Nalu- Lasting Love Ch.15

The group of friends were at a restaurant after spending most of the day walking around town. They took up a booth, having Lucy and Levy sit together, and Wendy and Gajeel sit together. "Lu-chan, the Harvest Festival is coming up and I was hoping that you can come." Lucy stopped eating her salad to look up at Levy. It was true that she had seen fliers posted around Magnolia, but she hadn't planned to participate in it.

"I don't know Levy-chan. I was thinking on going on a big job that would take a while to complete." The Idea of having to spend an entire day with the guild that ditched her didn't sound like a fun idea.

Levy's face immediately dropped at what she just heard. Even Wendy almost choked on her ramen. "W-What do you mean you're going to be on a job?! But you have to come Lucy-san, the Master already promised to give all of us a float to share in the parade this year!"

'Damn, just when I thought I was in the clear,' both Gajeel and Lucy grumbled in their head. Levy was happily squealing in her seat as she hugged Wendy, and the other two mages sulked.

"Do you not want to participate either Gajeel?" Lily asked as he looked up from his seat on the table. Charle, who was also sitting on the table, looked at the Iron Dragon Slayer in curiosity.

"Not really, I think it's going to be boring."

"WELL TOO BAD YOU'RE GOING, AND YOU TOO LU-CHAN!" Her sudden change of mood caused the two mages to jump and sweat bullets. The Celestial mage was suddenly next to Gajeel to try to get away from the blue-haired girl.

They hugged each other by the shoulders while looking straight at the glaring Script mage and simultaneously said,"O-Of course we are going! Would't miss it for the world!"

Wendy moved and sat next to Levy so they could start thinking of the decorations. The two Exceeds ate their onigiri as they looked at the recently scolded mages with amused faces.

They started to talk about their recent accomplishments in their missions as the other two girls continued to talk about the float. Lucy started to pay attention to what they were saying because she heard Levy say something about having Loki dress up as a knight coming to save Princess Lucy from a tower and Gajeel dress up as a dragon. She then heard Wendy say that instead of doing a whole tower, Lucy should dress like a princess and Loki like a prince and have them holding hands the whole time while they threw souvenirs at the crowd.

"Wait wait, maybe we should do like a fairy tale type of wedding that you see in books! Charle and Lily can be little cupids, Gajeel and Loki are in tuxes, you and me in pretty dresses, and Lu-chan in a wedding dress while holding Loki's hand!" Hearts suddenly appeared in Levy's eyes as she spoke and clasped her hands together.

A vein popped out of the blonde girl's head,"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO TALKING ABOUT?! First, why does it have to be romantic?! Second, WHY LOKI OF ALL PEOPLE?!" Lucy pointed a finger accusingly at the two girls, and she was standing as much as the booth allowed.

Levy smiled and raised one eyebrow,"Because Loki is the only male spirit that you have that looks normal, and people already call you 'the Princess of Fairy Tail'. I intend to use that as much as I can."

The Celestial mage looked at the Sky Dragon Slayer and saw her please-let-us-do-this eyes that made her melt. "Fine, but I have to draw the line somewhere."

All of them threw in their ideas and vetoed some until they reached a compromise. "Okay, so I will dress as a princess, Levy-chan and Wendy as fairies, Gajeel will be Gajeel but he will be in charge of the lachrima that makes star-like things, and Charle and Lily will be flying around the float as they throw souvenirs to the crowd. Oh and I will call out Lyra to sing and Plue so he can dance around."

They all agreed until Levy noticed a missing detail,"Lu-chan, you forgot about Loki." The Script mage was obviously enjoying messing with her friend.

"No, no Loki."

"Yes Loki."

"No Loki."

"Yes Loki."

"Why do we need Loki?"

"Because every princess needs her prince, and Loki is the only option unless their is another guy that could do that role?"

An image of Natsu appeared in her head,"No...well...no one that I am on good terms with anyway."

"It's only for the parade, Lu-chan."

"...Fine, but no holding hands."

Both Wendy and Levy cheered while Gajeel quietly grumbled about having to participate. Lucy could feel the pain and anguish creep into her again. She could feel her chest start to tear apart, but before it did something caught her eye. The ring her Lion spirit made her started to glow beautifully, and the sadness slowly receded.

It was late when Lucy got home, and she was exhausted from shopping for the supplies. She went to the bathroom to take a quick shower, brush her teeth and change into her pajamas.

She went into her bedroom, and saw something in her bed. Looking closer, she saw a hazel like color of spiked hair that belonged to her spirit. She had become so used to him being there, and she was too tired to care that she just got in next to him. Suddenly she felt him hug her waist and pull her closer. He was still asleep, and had done it subconsciously. Lucy giggled at his action and slept, trying to forget the pain that she constantly carried.
